Northeast New Jersey Legal Services (NNJLS) seeks a Development Associate to research and develop compelling funding proposals to government, foundation, and corporate sources. Working under the supervision of the Executive Director and the Development Director, the Development Associate will help identify and cultivate potential sources of public and private funding; develop, prepare, write and submit high-quality grant proposals and applications; assist in grant reporting and work with other staff to develop important program outreach and public relations materials and publications. The Development Associate will also work as part of a team to develop innovative models for the delivery of legal services to low-income clients and secure funding to support those services. A college degree, relevant experience, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required. The successful candidate will be well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. A demonstrated familiarity with and commitment to legal services, public interest programs, and nonprofit organizations is preferred.
NNJLS is a nonprofit public interest law firm with over 90 employees providing free legal services to low-income, senior, and disabled residents of Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic Counties, New Jersey.
