Director of Individual Giving

The Director of Individual Giving will manage PRC’s individual giving program, which includes major gifts, mid-level donors, and the annual fund.

Position Responsibilities Include:

Create a comprehensive annual individual giving plan with quantifiable revenue goals in collaboration with the Managing Director of Development.

Oversee efforts to identify donors capable of making gifts of $5K+, with a focus on new donor acquisition.

Develop qualification, cultivation and solicitation strategies for high-potential prospects for the Managing Director of Development, Chief Strategy Officer, and CEO.

Manage an active portfolio of 75-100 individual prospects with the goal of soliciting gifts of $1,000 or more annually.

Identify prospects for planned gifts to PRC.

Work with the Managing Director of Development to implement marketing and communication materials that effectively articulates the case for support for PRC.

Oversee donor stewardship and recognition efforts to help foster a strong philanthropic culture amongst various constituencies.

Work with the Board of Directors, Development Committee, and volunteers to identify high capacity prospects.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships and rapport with various stakeholders.

Create effective direct mail and digital solicitation strategies to increase annual giving appeals revenue.

Manage gift administration and donor acknowledgement, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible development experience, with proven success in major gift fundraising in an academic, nonprofit, or comparable organization.

Ability to effectively evaluate, prioritize, and develop individuals of all stages in a portfolio – with expertise on making major gift asks and closing gifts.

Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with donors, prospects, volunteers, and staff to accomplish organizational and fundraising goals.

Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a variety of situations, individuals, and groups.

Independent worker – must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.

Results and detail-oriented, with the ability to achieve results and complete projects in a timely manner.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of fundraising databases, preferably Salesforce.

This is a full-time exempt position.
