Chief Executive Officer, Independence Seaport Museum

Independence Seaport Museum (ISM) seeks a strategic and entrepreneurial leader to serve as the next CEO of the institution. Focused on creating a culture of teamwork and transparency, she/he will create and execute a vision for ISM while possessing a passion and enthusiasm for the organization’s educational and cultural work. 

The next CEO will be a hands-on, inspirational, internal and external leader and will bring a strategic focus with strong operational and management abilities. She/he will have a track record of success piloting an organization of similar size and complexity including finance, development, programming, facilities and brand marketing with a track record of successfully raising funds for a similar organization.

ISM increases the awareness, knowledge, and experience of our waterways by highlighting the important role of the Delaware River through direct contact with their collections, exhibits, and the water. Located on the busy Penn’s Landing Waterfront in Philadelphia, the Museum is a key component of the waterfront re-development project and is uniquely positioned to tell the story of the vital role that Philadelphia has played in the maritime history of the United States.
