Job Summary

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Senior Digital Content/SEO Specialist oversees the design, development, and content of all WWP web properties, and ensures they are continuously fully functioning to provide the best user experience to our warriors, family support members, and supporters.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Integrate WWP website content with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and social media marketing to develop and maintain an online reputation in alignment with WWP’s strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with internal WWP teams to ensure website content is current, relevant, and effective. Collaborate to strategize and design projects to ensure goals and deadlines are being met.
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of online efforts through onsite metrics and dashboards as they relate to all of WWP’s properties, including Carry Forward, Community Fundraising, main website, News Room, etc.
  • Manage and track vendor relationships on SEO efforts to ensure site and its content performs according to strategy across all web properties, including WWP main site, donation forms, fundraising platforms and News Room.
  • Develop & provide a standardization of reporting website metrics. Engage leadership, vendors & internal teams weekly, monthly and quarterly to assess opportunities presented within reports.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of website metrics that support, and help facilitate, the development & movement of larger, organization-wide web projects.
  • Maintain a consistent look, feel, and voice across all WWP web properties, e.g., main site, Cool Careers, Carry Forward & Community Fundraising platforms, News Room, and other warrior interfacing websites.
  • Work closely with IT department to manage development vendor relationship in order to maintain website standards and recommend new development, technology and design relating to cross-developmental and design projects.
  • Work closely with online direct response team to help facilitate and recommend additional landing pages that support ongoing fundraising initiatives.
  • Work closely with Programs & Program Marketing teammates to ensure website facilitates a high quality user experience for the warrior journey from registration to event signup, and more.
  • Maintain web properties to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated working understanding of content management systems, e.g., umbraco, drupal.
  • Experience working understanding and skills with the platform.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how marketing channels integrate together including PR, email marketing, social media, SEO, and paid search. Demonstrated working understanding of social media marketing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how the website interacts with and supports all communications and marketing channels.
  • Fundamental knowledge of web reporting dashboards, e.g., Google Data Studio, Supermetrics
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics and other industry-related platforms.
  • Strong experience using industry standard tools, Google Search Console, Moz, SEMrush, SiteImprove.
  • Working understanding of HTML, CSS, .NET, and JavaScript.
  • Working understanding of Microsoft Office software and Adobe Creative Suite, e.g., Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend solutions to technical hurdles involving website, CMS, and design.
  • Effective communication skills including demonstrated concept, editing, proofreading, and copywriting skills.
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with astrong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Six years of experience working with content management systems, e.g. umbraco, drupal.
  • Six years of experience using Google Analytics and other industry related platforms.
  • Six years of experience utilizing industry standard tools, e.g., Google Search Console, Moz, SEMrush, SiteImprove.


  • Three years of experience directly integrating website activities with marketing & communications channels for organization-wide campaigns.
  • Two years of experience utilizing advanced web reporting dashboards, e.g. Google Data Studio, Supermetrics.
Certifications & Licensure
  • Certified Google Analytics preferred.
