About PMD Alliance: PMD Alliance is an independent, national nonprofit dedicated to providing opportunities for people to learn, live more fully and spark meaningful connections around them.

The Parkinson and Movement Disorder Alliance (PMD Alliance) seeks a full-time Director of Development for soliciting funds that support the PMD Alliance mission. They are responsible for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of PMD Alliance donors, and have responsibility for overseeing implementation of a variety of fundraising and outreach efforts.

The Director of Development will foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization, engaging board, staff and volunteers. They will have knowledge of, experience in the full donor cycle including prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship as well as an ability to effectively engage, guide, support, and provide leadership to Board members, staff and volunteers in fundraising activities.

Specifically, the Director of Development has responsibility for the development, strategy and organization of the annual plan which includes monthly giving, Board, volunteer, and team giving, special events and other giving such as peer to peer, corporate employee giving, car donation programs and other types of giving.

The Director of Development will have strong interpersonal and writing skills, knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques, particularly annual fundraising, possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members and other volunteers. They will have the desire to build external relationships, exhibit follow through on tasks and goals, display a positive attitude, demonstrate self-confidence, and good listening ability. They will maintain the annual stewardship plan which includes gift recognition programs, acknowledgement letters, fundraising database and tracking systems. The Director of Development will work closely with the communications team on the development of collateral for annual appeals, eblast solicitations, website communication and other communications. They will also be an active member of the philanthropy advisory council.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in Parkinson’s and other movement disorders and passionate about the mission and work of the Parkinson and Movement Disorder Alliance. In addition, they will possess a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of three years successful fundraising experience, a solid solicitation track record with effective closing skills and a persuasive ability to encourage philanthropic behavior, demonstrated experience in event planning and implementation.  They will also be a self-starter who is able to work independently as well as part of a team, driven to succeed, possess excellent interpersonal, relationship and team building skills, strong oral and written communication skills, strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), as well as familiarity with the Salesforce CRM applications, DonorSearch and Zoom.

This position is full time, exempt. It is also 100% remote but occasional travel for events, team meeting, donor meetings will be required.  Salary includes medical and dental benefits; vacation, sick and holidays.
