Bowdoin College seeks a dynamic individual for a new position working with one of the most loyal and accomplished alumni communities in the country.

The Director of Multicultural Alumni Engagement is a key contributor in helping build the lifelong connection of Bowdoin alumni to the College and each other, with a focus on multicultural-identifying alumni.

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and will join an experienced team that provides leadership to Bowdoin’s alumni and parent engagement efforts.

The Director will have a broad portfolio of involvement across alumni relations and development functions, including programming, strategy and travel to build relationships with Bowdoin alumni and parents. The director’s work will involve frequent collaboration with key partners in Admissions, Athletics, Career Exploration and Development, Communications, and the Office of Inclusion & Diversity, among others.

The successful candidate will be motivated by Bowdoin’s mission and will have a high degree of cultural competency. The director will interact with a diverse population of alumni, students, parents, and staff of the College, and will understand the culture of a small, highly selective residential college. Recruiting, managing and communicating with volunteers is a key component of this work.

Bowdoin embraces diversity in all forms, and the College is home to talented students, faculty and staff—with a variety of racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds; religious beliefs; and gender identities, among other factors.

We encourage applications from candidates committed to the support of an inclusive campus community and those who will enrich and contribute to the College’s multifaceted diversity. We value a community in which individuals of all backgrounds are warmly welcomed and encouraged to succeed.
