Position overview

We are seeking an Institutional Giving Manager passionate about fighting poverty in the Bay Area to join a dynamic development team charged with raising funds to support Tipping Point’s vision for impact. The Institutional Giving Manager will assist with strategic leadership and takes tactical ownership over all corporate and foundation funding sources. They will be responsible for managing the corporate and foundation donor portfolio and writing high-quality and compelling correspondence, proposals, and grant reports for all institutional funders. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional writing and relationship management skills, strong project management experience, attention to detail and the capacity to translate program initiatives and impact into targeted and compelling funding requests. The Institutional Giving Manager will serve as an ambassador of Tipping Point, representing the organization to donors, partners, grantees, and others. This position reports to the Development Director.

What will you do?

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with all corporate and foundation donors; engage and solicit donors on annual basis through meetings, events, campaigns and other outreach.
  • Support the Director of Development, Chief Development Officer and other development and executive team members to develop and maintain relationships with corporate and institutional donors; collaborate with Individual Giving team on shared relationships.
  • Works with senior development and program staff to develop persuasive proposal strategies, narratives, and language for new programs and initiatives.
  • Write foundation and corporate LOIs, grant proposals and reports, within all specified timelines; track grant deliverables, organize program team input on reports and proposals, and create budgets in coordination with program and finance staff.
  • Manage timeline of annual solicitations, ensuring that asks are made in timely fashion to secure funding yearly.
  • Initiate and arrange site visits, funder briefings, presentations, and other donor education opportunities for corporate and foundation donors and prospects.
  • Conduct research, pursue leads and pitch new institutional funders. Help grow the existing portfolio of funders.
  • Create, solicit and implement corporate sponsorship plan for all relevant Tipping Point events. Partner with External Affairs team to create needed materials.
  • Partner with External Affairs team to coordinate social media and other communications relevant to corporate partners.
  • Partner with Senior Development Associate and Development Assistant to ensure that all institutional gifts and activities are properly entered in Salesforce.

All other duties as assigned.

Who are you?

  • You have at least five years of fundraising experience with a proven ability to secure five and six-figure gifts from foundation and corporate donors.
  • You are an exceptional writer with the ability to efficiently create funding narratives in a fast-paced environment; ability to synthesize complex activities and data into coherent and compelling narratives.
  • You are super organized. You are able to navigate ambiguity and prioritize workload in a timely manner to complete assignment when faced with many deadlines and competing requirements.
  • You are detail oriented. You are known for your keen attention to detail.
  • You are entrepreneurial. You are a self-starter with a results and problem-solving orientation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
