We are looking to scale our national impact and have a goal of reaching over one million people by 2025. As our Regional Director, you'll contribute to this growth on the East or West coast (we are hiring for both regions!). You will oversee existing programming operations while helping expand our reach in new communities.  

This Regional Director job is highly collaborative. You will work with local and national leadership, staff, volunteers, and donor partners to build and implement strategies that diversify and scale our programming throughout the region you own. You will also be responsible for strategic planning, program innovation and management, and relationship management throughout the region. Your responsibilities will include:  

  • Lead and manage all program operations, personnel management, and high-growth strategies for an assigned region (East or West) 
  • Drive strategic planning and measure impact for Phoenix sites operating in the region. Ensure that all existing programs and potential new programs are in alignment with Phoenix's mission, vision and values and in compliance with policies and procedures   
  • Support local leaders with building partnerships to improve access to recovery support and treatment for those in the region 
  • Analyze performance of individual locations and programs 
  • Provide feedback, guidance, and training in real time to staff to impact results  
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with a variety of external stakeholders including donors, partners, sponsors, and The Phoenix community 
  • Achieve short and long-term fiscal, programmatic, fiscal, budget, and operational goals and objectives established by the Board of Directors and senior leadership 
  • Contribute to long-term policies and day-to-day procedures to facilitate smooth operations of the region 
  • In partnership with national marketing team, find and leverage regional marketing and PR opportunities to increase awareness of The Phoenix and drive growth and impact  
  • Contribute to deepening Phoenix's development capability, including carrying fundraising responsibilities and building fundraising capabilities within the region 
  • Travel for meetings as necessary 
  • Other duties as assigned  

 

Experience and skills you bring to the organization:

  • A strong connection to The Phoenix Mission and commitment to leading by example are critical to this position 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people from all walks of life 
  • 7+ years of professional experience 
  • Experience leading and supervising high performing teams 
  • Experience with budget and program management 
  • Ability to drive and quickly adapt to change 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, humility, and integrity 
  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences 
  • Action-oriented, proactive, and creative with an innovative approach to planning and problem solving 
  • Willingness to travel based on business needs  

 

Standout applicants may also bring:

  • Lived experience as a peer in recovery  
  • Bachelor's degree or higher 
  • Experience in a non-profit director or management role preferred
