Overview: This full time position will be responsible for planning and executing HELP’s Major Giving program for leadership and major gift donors. This person will work with the Director of Development to develop a strategic plan for all leadership and major gift donors to HELP.
Reports to: Director of Development
Location: Remote with some time in NYC office and eventual travel
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support for innovative thinking across the Development Office
- Strengthen HELP’s culture of philanthropy and be part of a growing development program
- Develop and implement a sophisticated major giving program based on industry best practices, with an emphasis on high ROI fundraising activities
- Identify, research, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned giving prospects
- Support the creation of major gift annual goals and metrics alongside the Director of Development
- Prospect and Manage a portfolio of 120‒140 major gift
($25,000+) prospects
- 130 major gift visits a year ( video meetings will qualify during travel restrictions / Covid-19 era)
- Build a base of leadership corporate and foundation partners
- Create and manage customized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for each prospect in portfolio
- Work with the Executive Director, Director of Development, and Volunteers to develop prospect strategies and coordinate their participation as needed
- Work closely with the Development Assistant to effectively move Annual Fund donors through to the major gifts pipeline and coordinate comprehensive campaign solicitation strategies
- Participate in campaign prospect visits, as appropriate
- Participate in fundraising and cultivation events, and follow-up with major gift prospects
- Track all activity in Raiser’s Edge and work with Development Assistant to pull appropriate reports as needed
- Prioritize and commit to participation in internal Development
staff meetings including:
- Prepare agenda and check in points for weekly 1-1 meetings with Director of Development
- Attend and report at regular Development office prospect strategy meetings
- Attend and report at regular Development office staff meetings
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development
Qualifications:
- Proven success with fundraising, specifically individual giving
- Understanding of relationship cultivation and stewardship, including Moves Management concepts
- CFRE or comparable experience preferred
Salary:
Up to $80,000 per year, depending on past experience and earnings, with excellent benefits
