The Development Manager coordinates The Wetland Institute’s fundraising and engagement events; implements the individual and corporate giving program and assists with other funding programs. Duties include prospect identification and research, cultivation and stewardship activities, annual gala and other fundraising events and initiatives, reporting and material creation and supporting the annual activities of our Development plan. The Development Manager is proactive in identifying and soliciting new support from individuals, companies, and foundations and well as renewing and growing existing development revenue. He/she works closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees to increase financial support and strengthen donor relationships.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree. 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fund development. Established track record of successful philanthropy and relationships with foundations, corporations, and high net-worth individuals. Broad knowledge of principles of non-profit fundraising. Excellent technology competency, including Microsoft Office products as well as database entry, querying, and reporting. Donor Perfect background strongly preferred. Ability to interact comfortably with the public in a professional and courteous manner, as well as to create and maintain relationships with outside vendors and partners. Excellent communication skills in written correspondence and in telephone, email, and in-person communications. Detail-oriented, with excellent editing and proofreading skills. Able and willing to work both independently and as a member of a face-paced team, and to share the outdoors with prospective and loyal supporters. Familiar with, and adhere to, the AFP’s code of ethical principles and standards for fundraising professionals. This position is based in Stone Harbor, NJ and will involve occasional evening and weekend work. Temporary remote work for COVID-related restrictions are being implemented.
