The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for a portfolio of Tuesday’s Children’s existing major donors and cultivating new relationships with prospects. They are deeply experienced in cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, and are able to work independently to secure significant gifts for the organization.
The successful candidate can be based anywhere in the U.S.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Fundraising
- Create and implement cultivation plans for assigned portfolio of major donors, talking knowledgably about the Tuesday’s Children’s work and impact
- Solicit gifts from assigned portfolio of major donors
- Ensure best practice of stewardship of portfolio, providing reporting and personal briefings to donors on their giving
- Identify, research and cultivate appropriate prospects for the organization
- Maintain accurate and updated donor records using the Raiser’s Edge database
- Events
- All members of the Development Team are expected to assist with key fundraising events throughout the year
Required Education/Experience
- BA/BS in related field
- Minimum five-ten years fundraising experience
- Proven success in in securing gifts of $10,000+ and track record of delivering against targets
- Proficiency in the Raiser’s Edge, (NXT preferred)
Required Knowledge/Skills
- Able to work proactively and with minimal guidance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to present and tailor your reports to different audiences
- Highly organized, with strong research and analytical skills to identify new major donors
