Under the direction of the Vice President for University Relations, the Director of Alumni Engagement (Director II) is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive engagement strategy that builds mutually beneficial connections between the University and its 100,000 alumni. The Director will focus on programs and initiatives that create tangible benefits, both professionally and personally, for current students and alumni across the globe. By connecting with alumni through new communication channels, meaningful programming and leadership opportunities, the Director will create a relationship with alumni that begins before graduation and extends through life.

 

The Director will work closely with others in University Relations to promote content about alumni from across the institution via traditional and social media, thus raising the visibility of Kean. The Director will also work with other administrative units, such as Career Services, and the University’s seven colleges to provide strategies for connecting students with internships and career support from alumni. By regularly connecting with the Kean Foundation, the Director will ensure that alumni outreach efforts and programs complement and enhance the Foundation’s fundraising efforts on behalf of Kean’s students. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

 

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and four years of significant professional experience in alumni or donor engagement at an institution of higher education or similar entity is required. Master’s degree and five to seven years of experience is preferred. Management experience is strongly preferred. Candidate must have broad communication skills with an emphasis on clear, consistent writing.
