Director of Development, JFS Orlando

Jewish Family Services of Greater Orlando, Inc. (JFS Orlando), a major Central Florida community service organization, is seeking a new Director of Development. Located in Winter Park Florida, this position will lead all development activities including individual gifts and annual gifts campaign. This collaborative leader will also have the advantage of fundraising support from an experienced and committed Executive Director and Board of Directors.

AGENCY: Founded in 1978, JFS Orlando is a multi-service nonprofit organization with the mission to provide services to stabilize individuals and families in crisis and enhance the quality of life across generations to all members of the Central Florida community. Annually, JFS Orlando serves more than 10,000 people regardless of religion, race/ethnicity, gender, age, disability or any other factor.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Establishing and managing a new, comprehensive development program, this experienced fundraising leader will receive support from several areas of the organization, including marketing and administration, but will be capable of working independently to instill the motivation and clear vision needed to take this well-respected organization to the next level.

To do so, this new development professional will utilize the current donor database of individuals, corporations and sponsors that believe in the mission and vision of this growing, industry leading organization, as well as, cultivating new donors. S/he will bring the energy and enthusiasm desired to motivate local individuals and businesses to partner and support this impactful organization.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have a committed understanding of Tikkun Olam along with 6 - 8 years of related, progressively responsible experience in building and implementing a high-volume development program. This will include demonstrated expertise in creating and launching broad-based development strategies that will engage and raise the amount of philanthropic giving needed to support and expand the organization’s highly effective and valuable programs and services.

This professional will have the proven ability to work across the organization and with the Board to help achieve the organization’s development goals and business objectives.

A Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline is needed, and an advanced degree and/or industry certification (i.e. CFRE) is desirable.
