Director of Development

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Director of Development will build upon an established and successful fundraising strategy to ensure the ongoing expansion of Good Grief’s mission, which has experienced 13-years of consecutive growth. The Director of Development will leverage key assets to build funding partnerships, such as our regional Good Grief Schools program and the recent release of MTV’s documentary about Good Grief. In pursuit of increasing revenue streams for our free programs, the Director of Development will carefully manage, cultivate, and grow our individual donor portfolio while effectively overseeing two signature events and our foundation portfolio. Working closely with the development team, growing our foundation and corporate support will be an ongoing priority. Good Grief has a long history of expanding and offering exceptional programming and then seeking the funds to meet the demand. Good Grief is looking for the right candidate to support the procurement of funds so that exceptional programming can be expanded.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• History of developing long-term and meaningful relationships
• Experience cultivating donors within a large geographic radius
• 8-10+ years of experience executive fundraising campaigns
• Experience managing a budget of $2M to $5M in revenue
• Previous CRM experience
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and oral communicator
• Aligns with Good Grief’s mission and organizational values
• Ability to promote a counter-culture mission whose purpose is impacted by stigma
• Detail-oriented and able to manage a diverse portfolio of funders and priorities
