History
The Mental Health Association of Maryland (MHAMD) is one of the oldest nonprofit advocacy groups in the nation. Founded more than century ago, MHAMD works to build a just and humane mental health system in Maryland, where all people are accorded respect, dignity, and the opportunity to achieve their full potential. MHAMD fulfills this mission through advocacy, training, services oversight, and a range of outreach and education programs. In 2016, MHAMD launched a subsidiary organization, BrainFutures, as a national nonprofit dedicated to assessing and advancing the practical application of neuroscience research to maximize human potential.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer of BrainFutures and collaborating with teams across MHAMD, the Development Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the resource development program including annual fund appeals and donor acknowledgements; grants research, writing, and stewardship; online giving campaigns; and prospect development. - Assist in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual donors and prospects for annual and special projects support; partner with communications team to maintain stewardship calendar to ensure ongoing communication with key donors and stakeholders.
- Assist in the management of foundation and corporate grants, including prospect identification, cultivation, proposal writing, and grants management.
- Partner with program colleagues across MHAMD to support government grants management, including support for identifying new opportunities.
