Casey advances research and solutions to overcome barriers to success, to help communities demonstrate what works and to influence decision makers to invest in strategies based on solid evidence. 

The Foundation is seeking a director of National Community Strategies. This unique position involves strategic action within communities and across the Foundation. The role requires expertise in ensuring that philanthropic resources are well-allocated and well-managed; a track record for collaborating with funders and other stakeholders to obtain additional funding; experience with public systems and government funding streams; knowledge of methods of authentic community and youth engagement; and a commitment to improving the lives of children and families.

The ideal candidate must have expertise in at least one of the following areas:

  • Community Safety – promoting safety through community-based, public health approaches to violence prevention, trauma and healing in neighborhoods
  • Community Leadership and Engagement – helping communities access and apply tools, resources and support to lead change and create equitable opportunities for youth and their families
  • Housing and Community Development – improving housing security and stability for low-income children and youth, young adults and families of color

The role requires a master’s degree in social science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered; 10 or more years of increased professional experience with public systems change and reform, community and economic development, community organizing or advocacy, project development, social services, and results-based leadership; hands-on experience with program development and management; and comfort working with diverse stakeholders.
