Director of Development, Marketing & Communications
The Vermont Foodbank seeks an experienced development and marketing professional who is curious in nature, analytical in approach, diplomatic and strategic in developing and managing relationships, and committed to the organization’s mission and vision. The successful candidate will have at least seven years of relevant work history demonstrating leadership, annual fund fundraising, marketing, and communications experience. This professional will co-create, refine, and articulate a vision for what the team will accomplish, define strategy, and build relationships by employing strong organizational management, communication, implementation, problem-solving, and mentoring skills. This includes leading the Foodbank’s direct mail fundraising program as well as overseeing marketing strategies and an editorial calendar focused on promoting the utilization of food access services.
This person will build on a healthy, transparent culture with an emphasis on creating a team atmosphere and bring fresh approaches to problem-solving and challenge staff by posing questions, thinking broadly, and providing a focus on strategy. The selected candidate will join an energetic, empowered, intelligent team that derives joy from the work and is wholly dedicated to VF’s mission. A significant portion of this position’s workload can be handled remotely, however, applicants should be located within commuting distance of one of the Foodbank’s three facilities, in Barre, Brattleboro, or Rutland, or our shared office space in Chittenden County.
