Shriners Hospitals for Children is a non-profit health care system dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals. Children up to age 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care and receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of ability to pay.

A Development Officer at Shriners Hospitals for Children identifies and cultivates prospective donors from whom to solicit gifts. Nurture donor relationships through regular contact, communication and recognition. For the purpose of fund raising, develops and maintains relationships with hospital-affiliated Shriner Temples and the local community. You will be responsible for following and fulfilling the objectives and goals disseminated by Shriners Hospitals for Children's national and local boards as well as the national Chief Development Officer. The position requires the willingness and ability to travel as needed and willing to occasionally work evenings and weekends when necessary. Applicable experiences in the health care environment within development in major foundations, campaigns and grant writing is expected. Demonstrates a strong performance record for building relationships with others both within the hospital and without.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of education and experience required.
- At least one (1) year of responsible fundraising experience, with exposure to major and planned giving programs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently within a strong team philosophy.
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
