New York City Opera is seeking a Development Consultant(s) to spearhead two major programmatic initiatives for the company — production funding for the New York premiere of Anthony Davis and Richard Wesley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning opera THE CENTRAL PARK FIVE, performed in a fully-staged production in Central Park in September 2021; and the world premiere of Ricky Ian Gordon and Michael Korie’s THE GARDEN OF THE FINZI-CONTINIS, based on the 1962 novel by Giorgio Bassani, in collaboration with National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in January 2022. Working closely with and reporting to the General Director and our producing partners, the candidate will help with prospect identification and donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The candidate must demonstrate a track record of fundraising as well as a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts. They should also be ready to start immediately, as both projects are scheduled for September 2021 and January 2022 respectively. Please submit résumé and cover letter to development@nycopera.com
