Job Description:
Goucher College seeks to hire a Major Gifts Officer. The Major Gifts Officer will raise philanthropic support for Goucher College by participating in a wide range of activities related to the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major, planned, and annual giving donors. Reporting to the Director of Development, the MGO will provide leadership and implement strategies for marketing, cultivating, soliciting, and closing major, planned, and individual gifts. Manage a portfolio of 100-125 qualified major and planned gift prospects annually, working on special funding initiatives and projects as identified by the Director of Development. The Major Gifts Officer will work closely with the Advancement Team, faculty, students and volunteers.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-7 years of fundraising experience.
- Proven track record in solicitation
- Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word
- Strong written and verbal skills
- General math skills
- Persuasive, reasoning, and excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with PG Calc, Raiser's Edge, or similar software
