About this Position
The world’s premier conservation organization, The Nature Conservancy, seeks a Donor Relations Manager (DRM), also known as a Loyal Donor Officer, to conduct outreach, cultivate, solicit and steward 35,000+ identified, non-managed loyal donors in California. The California Chapter is the largest and among the most innovative within the organization, with over 200 employees and $625 million in assets. California is known for its unique solutions to today’s pressing environmental challenges, and, as a center of innovation and science, has been able to develop solutions that can be replicated across the country and globally.
The DRM conducts exploratory meetings with loyal donors for identifying and asking for bequest commitments, qualifying giving potential, and acts as team member when more complex gifts are possible. The DRM is responsible for thanking and cultivating the loyal donor pool in California, as well as stewarding loyal donors through meetings, trips, events, and other activities. Our ideal candidate has a BA/BS degree and at least 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination. The most successful candidate will have a proven ability to build relationships with loyal donors in the first meeting, and an appetite for learning and engaging in innovative ideas and strategies to achieve desired outcomes. We’re also looking for someone who owns a passion for Nature, is a whiz at generating and analyzing reports, and is insatiably curious and talented in storytelling.
Position can be located in Los Angeles, CA (preferred) or San
Diego, CA offices.
