Vice President of External Affairs, Cultural Vistas

Who We Are

Cultural Vistas, a non-profit international educational and exchange organization works to equip the next generation of global leaders to solve complex challenges by connecting lives to exchange knowledge, values and perspectives. Having just completed a new strategic plan, we seek to build on our 60-year legacy to mobilize our community of alumni, partners and programs to be a force for positive change. Rising conflicts between and within nations require renewed focus on creating developmental opportunities equipping individuals with skills to bridge deep divides and advance democratic values. We also are cognizant of the inequities of access and participation to global experiences that are now critical to career advancement. For too long entire populations have been left out of international educational opportunities. We want to change that. Our path forward will increase access to new audiences as we innovate to develop offerings that meet their needs and interests.

To that end, we seek a senior leader who will report directly to the CEO and who manages a small team of professionals to help us achieve our strategic vision by bringing expertise and a strong track record in outreach, development and engagement of philanthropic donors and partners.

The External Affairs team works on identifying, engaging, and inspiring individuals and organizations who feel a connection to Cultural Vistas' work and want to find ways to help support and/or advance our mission.  

Who You Are

To be successful in this job, you will excel in relationship building, strategy, communications, prospecting and leading teams and have experience with donor (institutional and individual) development, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

What You'll Do

Your job will be to lead our philanthropic strategy to help our team excel so they can build strategic, transformational relationships. At any given time, you will be responsible for representing Cultural Vistas to external stakeholders, funders, partners, developing new ways of inspiring stakeholders and ultimately helping us close the access and equity gap in global affairs. You will report to Jennifer Clinton, Cultural Vistas' President and CEO.
