POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Director, Digital Communications and Analytics, Advancement Communications and Events, creates and implements digital marketing and communications and tracks and analyses metrics and outcomes in order to strengthen relationships with the College’s alumni, parents, donors and friends, build loyalty and commitment to the College’s mission and secure  gifts that benefit the College.

 

Pomona College is in pre-campaign planning for the most ambitious comprehensive fundraising campaign in its history. With new leadership and a strategic plan for the next capital campaign in place, the incoming Assistant Director will collaborate with colleagues throughout Advancement and the College to support a complex integrated multichannel advancement communications plan that will include a clearly articulated strategy for the upcoming comprehensive capital campaign, as well as an emphasis on elevating Pomona College’s overall fundraising efforts, alumni and parent engagement, annual fund communication and donor stewardship, planned giving and Pomona Plan and marketing efforts.

 

The Advancement Communications and Events team is a group of creative thinkers and leaders who care about providing excellent customer service, effective multichannel communications, inspiring digital storytelling and outstanding donor event experiences. The office culture is fast-paced, collaborative, supportive, respectful and professional, with some humor and a lot of creative brainstorming. Team members take great pride in the tremendous responsibility of managing the College brand and bring their best every day to ensure that they are creating exceptional work for the College.

  

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business administration, a liberal arts field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  A valid driver’s license is required or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events.  A minimum of 2 years of digital marketing and communications or related experience is required. Experience at a not-for-profit institution or an advancement/development office is preferred.  

 

REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required. Periodic travel may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
