Full-time position available on or after May 1, 2021 for University Advancement.
Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President for Advancement Operations, the incumbent is responsible for independently performing the full range of varied and complex administrative assignments in support of a comprehensive fundraising program. The Associate works closely with campus leadership, development professionals, donors and volunteer leaders. This position is responsible for all prospect research, prospect management and oversight of development team portfolios and prospect assignments. This position leads the coordination and execution of the preparation of event briefs for donor-related events.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prospect Research and Prospect/Moves Management
- Responsible for researching, collecting, and compiling
background materials and research profiles on prospects, alumni,
friends and potential contributors to Stanislaus State.

major gifts prospects, and assist with data entry and information
management for donors and prospects.

- Keep current on campus fundraising initiatives and ensure that
relevant information is disseminated to the appropriate personnel,
and instruct and educate Development staff and other staff as
appropriate in the methodology and resources of prospect
- Analyze and organize information to identify philanthropic
patterns and relationships among individuals, corporations,
foundations, University affiliations and estimates of financial
capacity to help guide the development of cultivation and

enhance the University's efforts to build enduring relationships
with constituents that result in advocacy and support and boost the
productivity and efficacy of University Advancement, which includes
Development, Alumni Relations, Stewardship & Philanthropic
Services, Office of the President and Academic units.
- Utilize constituent data and predictive modeling tools,
identify prospective donors for Development officers to qualify,
cultivate, solicit and steward, partner with Development staff to
track prospects and regularly review and update prospect
- Administer efficient prospect management systems and processes,
ensure appropriate protocols are in place, and adhere to legal
privacy requirements and ethical standards upheld by regulatory
bodies and professional organizations.
- In partnership with the VP and AVP, create, track, analyze and
optimize performance metrics, tune performance goals to measure
actions and behaviors that enhance team productivity and lead to
success, and provide training to colleagues to help them utilize
- Participate in the maintenance, administration and
configuration of the prospect management and research components of
the Blackbaud development system which currently includes Raiser's
Edge, NXT and Fundraising Performance Management.
- Support the Office of the President and Cabinet in
donor-related events planned by University Advancement, which
includes preparing and participating in presidential
- Works with the VP, AVP and Directors for all event invitations,
communications, and programs.
- Attend events, greet donors, and perform assigned tasks.
Prepares and disseminates event briefs, working with key
stakeholders to gather pertinent information.
- Interact with donors in person or via email. Review and route
correspondence to the appropriate personnel. Participates in
planning session with the University Advancement staff to ensure
appropriate cultivation and stewardship activities are in place
surrounding advancement events. Ensure events and attendee
information is properly recorded in Raiser's Edge/NXT.
- Prepare briefing materials for meetings and events.
- Support the submission process for donor, corporate, and
foundation funding proposals and applications.

Education: Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training OR a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Experience: Minimum of two years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
- Previously related administrative support experience in a
university or nonprofit fundraising office.
- Experience using Raiser's Edge, NXT and Blackbaud Fundraising
Performance Management (formerly known as Reeher) or any other
fundraising software and programs.
- College degree desirable.
- Full-time equivalent of 2 years of administrative assistant
experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities to
perform the essential functions of a fundraising office.
- Demonstrated understanding of the methods and importance of
maintaining the security of confidential and sensitive donor
- Demonstrated experience implementing and managing a prospect
management and tracking system.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with development officers
and deans on portfolio evaluations.
- Demonstrated experience producing management metrics
- Demonstrated experience conducting research on individuals,
corporations and foundations.
- Due to the nature of donor work, the successful applicant must
be able to work some evenings and weekends.
- General knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative
and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public
administration principles, practices, and methods.
- Working knowledge of general practices, program, and/or

- Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of
policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable

business mathematics and basic statistical techniques.
- Ability to organize and plan work and projects including
handling multiple priorities.
- Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound
- Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to
program or administrative specialty.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships within and outside the work group and serve
as a liaison for the organizational unit.
$3,288 - $6,347 per month plus excellent paid benefits. (Anticipated salary will be $3,288 - $3,617 per month, depending on the qualifications of the successful finalist.)
