PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:
Food Bank’s Prospect Intelligence Manager primarily focuses on
prospect management while also fulfilling some responsibilities in
prospect research and proposal development. This person identifies
prospects who are suitable for a principal, major, or leadership
annual giving portfolio and oversees the prospect management system
to ensure that all prospects under management are appropriately
pursued for maximum mission impact. This person also creates
concise, accurate, and timely ratings, strategy briefings, and
profiles to support front-line fundraising efforts – including
briefings for senior leadership.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the leadership of the Vice President of Individual and Major
Giving (VP IG/MG), the Director of Prospect Intelligence will:
• Identify and assign the best prospects to front-line
fundraisers to ensure that organizational fundraising initiatives
have sufficient prospects to meet fundraising goals
• Conduct prospect review/moves management meetings with all
portfolio managers
• Provide expertise and guidance to development staff to maintain
guidelines for moves management integration in the database
• Compose concise, focused research documents to support the
identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
process
• Monitor market trends and media sources for relevant information
on donors and prospects
• Compose briefings for senior leadership team
• Draft proposals for major and principal gift prospects
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Commitment to social justice/hunger issues.
• Commitment to the Mission and Values of Food Bank For New York
City
• Minimum of 2 years of development, prospect management or similar
professional experience
• Professional experience in non-profit development preferred
• Highly collaborative with knowledge of moves management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work as part of a
team
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel,
Outlook
• Preferred experience with Raiser’s Edge 7, Raiser’s Edge NXT or
similar CRM
