 About the Navy SEAL Foundation

The Navy SEAL Foundation's mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community and its families.

Since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, there has been an unprecedented demand for our Special Operations Forces.  Never before has so much been asked of so few, from so many, for so long.  Established in 2000 to serve U.S. Navy SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman (SWCC), Naval Special Warfare support personnel and their families, the Navy SEAL Foundation’s programs are focused on the preservation of the Naval Special Warfare force and their families.  We provide a comprehensive set of programs specifically designed to improve health and welfare, build and enhance resiliency, empower and educate families and provide critical support during times of illness, injury, loss, and transition.

Like the community it serves, the Navy SEAL Foundation (NSF) is a high performing organization committed to excellence. NSF has received eight consecutive 4-Star ratings from Charity Navigator. It is one of less than 70 charities from among more than 9,000 to have earned a perfect score of 100 for our financial health, accountability, and transparency, placing NSF in the top 1% of the rated charities. Ninety-five cents of every dollar donated goes directly to programs or is retained for future mission use.

The Navy SEAL Foundation is a 501c3 national non-profit charitable organization. TAX-ID 31-1728910. The Navy SEAL Foundation is a non-federal entity. It is not a part of the Department of Defense or any of its components, and it has no governmental status.

Position Summary:

The Navy SEAL Foundation (NSF) is dedicated to raising necessary funds to support our mission. The Development Director - Western (DD-W) Region will grow the organization’s major gifts program in the Western Region of the United States (to include Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and California, with an emphasis on Los Angeles, California). The DD-W is responsible for managing an existing portfolio of donors, which includes individual, corporate and foundation prospects.  He/she will identify, research, and form a strategic solicitation plan and will maintain a personal relationship with donors in order to maximize their charitable and volunteer involvement in the Western region.  She/he will collaborate with a small but dynamic development team (Development Director, Communications Director, Events Manager), and engage with a motivated CEO and Board of Directors in all development and fundraising endeavors. The DD-W will apply their strategic expertise and persuasive presentation style to shape how the NSF’s compelling mission will be communicated in order to optimize its visibility, capacity, and financial resources.
