Digital Fundraising & Database Manager, Museum

Working with a dynamic and collaborative development team, the Digital Fundraising & Database Manager supports departmental fundraising efforts through the development and management of web, email, and CRM technology, and the creation and oversight of content optimized for these channels. This role holds primary responsibility for the department’s digital communications tools, accurate reporting and using data in decision making to increase income and maximize return on investment. Currently this position is remote; post-pandemic this position would be on-site, in the offices located on Mount Vernon's grounds.    Essential Duties: Database Management
  • Lists and extractions for elevated events, special activities, annual report, donor analysis, and as requested
  • Fiscal, prospect and elevated event campaign and special activity set up in Tessitura for development
  • Create and maintain Tessitura Analytics dashboards for the major giving team and others as needed
  • Mass wealth screen requests, analysis, and import of information into Tessitura
  • Manage development operations requests form and follow up
  • Conduct ongoing quality checks on data appends such as national change of address, contributions and memberships to improve data integrity including lockbox imports
  • Test and implement new Tessitura functionality
  • Attend organization-wide meetings as development representative for Tessitura and disseminate information to the development department
  • Provide analysis of digital fundraising efforts using Tessitura Analytics and other reporting tools and make process improvement recommendations
Outbound Marketing
  • Actively collaborate with development team to align email campaigns with other ongoing development initiatives
  • Create content, design and manage scheduling for all development email marketing
  • Lists and extractions for all development email marketing utilizing Tessitura and Active Campaign
  • Attend organization-wide meetings as development representative for Active Campaign and disseminate information to the development department
  • Generate reports on development email campaigns and optimize accordingly
  • Manage development focused advertising campaigns in coordination with media & communications and third-party consultants
  • Stay on top of new online fundraising trends and provide recommendations on new campaign techniques
Website Management
  • Work with Mount Vernon’s website content management system (CMS) to manage content and make regular updates to dynamic, Tessitura-connected points of the website for all development-related webpages
  • Write and edit new content for development pages and ensure effectiveness of provided content
  • Maintain transactional integrations between the website/Web API (using TNEW functionality) and the Tessitura database
  • Manage testing for TNEW and support new functionality testing with the New Media and IT teams
  • Ensure proper use of technology to maximize search engine optimization
Office Administration
  • Provides on-site support for events and programs as needed by the department, which typically occur on the weekends or in the evenings
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising with particular expertise in systems and digital communications
  • Computer proficiency, including a minimum of 2 years of: CMS system, CRM system (preferably Tessitura), TNEW and email marketing platforms
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Contributes ideas to improve effectiveness and quality of marketing and fundraising efforts
  • Ethical fundraiser standards and practices
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • An interest in the Mission of George Washington’s Mount Vernon with eagerness to learn more and share its importance with others
