Title:                                   Prospect Intelligence Manager Department:                      External Relations Reports to:                         Vice President of Individual and Major Giving Locations:                          39 Broadway – Lower Manhattan / Remote During  Covid-19 FLSA Status:                       Non Exempt   PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB: Food Bank’s Prospect Intelligence Manager primarily focuses on prospect management while also fulfilling some responsibilities in prospect research and proposal development. This person identifies prospects who are suitable for a principal, major, or leadership annual giving portfolio and oversees the prospect management system to ensure that all prospects under management are appropriately pursued for maximum mission impact. This person also creates concise, accurate, and timely ratings, strategy briefings, and profiles to support front-line fundraising efforts – including briefings for senior leadership.    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the leadership of the Vice President of Individual and Major Giving (VP IG/MG), the Manager of  Prospect Intelligence will:
  • Identify and assign the best prospects to front-line fundraisers to ensure that organizational fundraising initiatives have sufficient prospects to meet fundraising goals
  • Conduct prospect review/moves management meetings with all portfolio managers
  • Provide expertise and guidance to development staff to maintain guidelines for moves management integration in the database
  • Compose concise, focused research documents to support the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process
  • Monitor market trends and media sources for relevant information on donors and prospects
  • Compose briefings for senior leadership team
  • Draft proposals for major and principal gift prospects
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Commitment to social justice/hunger issues.
  • Commitment to the Mission and Values of Food Bank For New York City
  • Minimum of 2 years of development, prospect management or similar professional experience
  • Professional experience in non-profit development preferred  
  • Highly collaborative with knowledge of moves management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work as part of a team
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Preferred experience with Raiser’s Edge 7, Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar CRM
