Development Coordinator of the DCC Foundation

 

Department: DCC Foundation

Appointment: 12-Month, Administrative

Reports To: DCC Foundation Executive Director

 

General Functions:

This position day to day data operations of the DCC Foundation. The Development Coordinator oversees several activities related to the department, including the database, donor research, endowment reports, social media and email blasts and assists with special events coordination. The position also manages the part-time Development Associate.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Executive Director and College’s business office in the preparation of financial statements, donor account management and overall budgetary compliance including fiscal year end reporting, Foundation audit, 990 and the VSE report.
  • Maintain and monitor compliance with scholarship and restricted fund terms and contractual obligations including management of payments to and from the scholarship and restricted funds.
  • Enters, updates and maintains all data files regarding data including giving, demographic, biographic and mailing code information for individuals and organizations in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Produce and analyzes various reports and reviews records and reports to ensure the integrity of the Raiser’s Edge information.
  • Produces all mailing lists, queries and email lists as required for the office.
  • Identifies opportunities for donor cultivation and engagement.
  • Gathers information and generates regular reports on fund progress to insure compliance with action plans and budget requirements.
  • Generates reports as it pertains to donor research.
  • Oversees the Development Associate in regards to:
    • Processing and inputting all donations and pledges in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Producing donor acknowledgement letters in a timely fashion along with all forms of donor stewardship.
    • Processing online gifts from Net Community, Foundation’s Facebook page, and other various online giving platforms.
  • Assist with department policy recommendations and interpretation.
  • Assists at all DCC Foundation events, Alumni Events and when necessary at institutional events.
  • Assists with the College’s scholarship ceremony as it pertains to the donors.
  • Assist with the Foundation’s annual report and newsletter in regards to donor data.
  • Attends all Foundation board and committee meetings as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with SUNY committees as appropriate.
  • Participate in departmental, divisional, and institutional assessment activities as required.
  • Assume other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in non-profit management, business or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a fundraising office, particularly working in Raiser’s Edge; Banner a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal, financial, and organizational proficiency.
  • Committed to the mission of Dutchess Community College and the DCC Foundation and student success.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Ability to meet hard deadlines.
  • Detail oriented
