Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy Programs, the Assistant Director, Events & Donor Relations must be seasoned development professional who plans, coordinates, and executes all annual and campaign events to increase philanthropic support and improve bottom line fundraising performance for Gaylord Development.


This person should have a love for special event management on both small and large scales, provide outstanding customer service and manage the administration and logistics of multiple events. He/she is able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work occasional evenings. He/she must have experience with high-net worth individuals and experience interfacing with lead donors.


The Assistant Director is also responsible for designing, implementing and coordinating a new, institution- wide comprehensive stewardship program that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction and recognition of donors at all levels. This position’s role is to sustain positive and mutually-rewarding relations between Gaylord Specialty Healthcare and its donors; partners with Director of Philanthropy Programs to determine best strategies for effective stewardship of mid-level donors; maintain an ongoing and active network with internal and external constituencies; coordinate recognition events for major gift donors and coordinate various activities for Hospital lifetime and planned giving society donors. Partners with CDO on special stewardship projects, as needed.


Minimum Requirements



Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university and three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Requires proficiency on pc utilizing fund raising software. Familiarity with RaisersEdge.


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members of the business community and prospective or current donors. Ability to write reports, speeches and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, public groups and/or boards of directors as well as the general public.
