The Cleveland Institute of Art invites applications for the position of Advancement Associate.  Under the supervision of the Director of Foundation Relations and in support of the office of Institutional Advancement the Advancement Associate is responsible for handling many of the day-to-day functions involved in managing the department’s various lines of contributed income, as well as supporting a comprehensive stewardship program. This is an outstanding and fun opportunity for an up-and-coming development professional to obtain broad exposure to many facets of fundraising and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides overall administrative support to the Institutional Advancement team including; entering data into constituency information database; researching prospects; organizing and monitoring cultivation and solicitation assignments; scheduling meetings, preparing talking points, assembling presentations, and reports
  • Assist with the planning and execution for the implementation of programs and events directed at all constituent groups
  • Prepares correspondence, proposals, and reports to individuals, corporations and foundations as requested
  • Assists with gift tracking reports and entering gifts in database
  • Some evening and weekend work required to support events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Creative thinking and problem solving while attending to the details involved in fundraising
  • Attention to detail, effective multitasking, organization and project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere, and the ability to manage a flexible schedule

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Two years experience in a development office in an educational institution or other non-profit organization
