The University of Colorado Boulder Alumni Association encourages
applications for a Program Manager on our business Development
team. The business development team is responsible for revenue
generation through multiple programs including advertising sales,
affinity partners, event sponsors, facility rentals, alumni travel
program, and other revenue streams. The Alumni
Association is a powerful network of over 300,000 alumni who
proudly call the University of Colorado their alma mater. The CU
Boulder Alumni Association servers all Forever Buffs by providing
meaningful experiences and valuable resources. This
position serves as the primary contact for the business development
team in partnership with the Advancement marketing and
communications team to ensure all goals are accounted for and
accurately executed. Customer service is a critical piece of this
position by acting as the point person for customers for all
existing business development program.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Management and Support of Revenue Generation and Engagement Programs
- Build and implement annual marketing plans for all Business Development programs by working closely with Advancement Marketing and Communications and the individual program manager. Program examples include:
- Koenig and Heritage Center reservations, The Roaming Buffs Travel Program, Senior Auditors, Affinity partner results, Sponsorship results, and the License plate/scholarship programs.
- Work with the Business Development team and partners to collect all advertising components per contractual agreements with partners prior to established marketing due dates.
- Lead and coordinate the daily logistics of the Travel Program, including:
- Create and distribute pre and post trip communication to travelers.
- Respond to travelers' requests/questions.
- Collect and build the travel bios for each trip.
- Inventory and determine trip gifts based on number of trips taken with Roaming Buffs to date.
- Coordinator logistics for welcome receptions for select trips with the tour operators.
- Assist with the planning, development and execution of the Roaming Buffs Catalog showcase and travel reunion event.
- Supervise attendance, order the catering and track results promised to vendors sponsoring the event.
- Ensure all "day of" logistics are met and running efficiently.
- If vital, hire and manage the Travel program student.
- Manage and be responsible for the day to day logistics of the Senior Auditors program.
- Partner with the Office of Continuing Ed regarding the planning and execution of the program.
- Plan and execute a mid-semester Senior Auditors event.
- Evaluates and understands the alumni associations audiences and market trends relative to current and past demographics and performs ongoing analysis of potential target populations.
- This includes managing program outcomes, defining and calculating evaluative metrics, and executing a follow-up strategy to build audience relationship.
- Ensure the Alumni Association metrics database is up to date on a monthly basis and create an impact report at least twice a year.
- Maintain current database and fulfill database requests for travel program participants and business development vendors.
- Analyze trends on past 3 years of the travel program looking at trends related to (but not limited to) the number of trips offered, number of trip by traveler, repeat traveler trends, top selling trips, etc.
- Keep Advancement Marketing and Communications team advised of updates to the program for business development related content on the Alumni Association website.
- Work with Advancement Marketing and Communications team to enhance all revenue based sites i.e. travel, sponsorship, advertising, rentals, etc.
- Build Cvent platforms for Senior Auditors and Travel program, pull reports, make needed changes, issue refunds when requested.
- Review and proof all brochures and proposals. Track stats and examples for all Business Development results to be used in the Proof of Performance document at the end of the program.
- Develop and maintain calendar of contractual agreements and CUBAA results for advertising, sponsors, affinity partners and other revenue-related streams.
- Upload vital logos, text and links to the Workfront projects.
- Work closely with Business Development team to collect all necessary ads and confirm all results are met which are laid out in the memorandum of understanding between the Alumni Association and the partner.
- Manage the Roaming Buffs Scholarship program.
- Manage the Colorado, Maryland and Texas License Plate Program.
- Assist with the planning and execution of the annual Scholarship reception.
- Become well versed with Academic works platform.
- Field customer service concerns from alumni related to revenue programs via phone and email.
- All calls must be returned within 24 hours and emails within 48 hours of receiving.
- Work and participate in Alumni Association all hands on deck events to include but not limited to board meetings, Grad Bash, Black and Gold, and Homecoming.
- Occasionally work nights and weekends.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, Advancement all staff meetings.
- Interact with alumni and guests at all events attending as a member of the Alumni Association.
- Establish positive relationships with business development partners, i.e. tour operators, event sponsors, affinity partners.
What We Require
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of professional experience in business marketing, business development and/or travel programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enhanced organizational skills including the identification of issues, exploration of resolutions and the ability to make sound judgments and decisions.
- Demonstrated skills to successfully work independently and develop programs within established guidelines.
- Digital literacy highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Advance, Cvent, Salesforce, Basecamp and Workfront.
- Excellent Customer Service skills.
- Able to analyze and summarize data.
- Ability to multi task and meet due dates.
- Graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder.
- Experience in working with a non-profit organization.
