The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the President, CEO, Redeemer Health is seeking a dynamic Vice President, Chief Development Officer (CDO) to join its executive team. This professional will be responsible for the overall management and direction of the fundraising operations, spanning Southeastern Pennsylvania and eleven counties within New Jersey. The CDO will have specific accountability in the areas of major gift solicitations, planned giving, annual fund, donor and recognition stewardship, corporate and foundation relations and philanthropic events. As a groundbreaker in customer experience design in our market, Redeemer Health will give priority to candidates with a proven track record of deploying innovative, experience-based donor relationship approaches. An inspiring leader, the successful CDO will envision and implement creative strategies to support fundraising activities coordinated with our strategic partners, including a nationally renowned cancer center and significant homecare and life care partnerships.

The CDO will be a highly valued adviser to the executive team, as well as the Trustees of the organization. The CDO will serve as the chief fundraising strategist working to align fundraising goals with the strategic goals of Redeemer Health's three divisions of health care, home care and life care. As the leader of a team of 4 professionals and 3 additional team members, this professional will work to reach an annual seven to eight figure goal.

The Candidate

The successful CDO candidate will have demonstrated ability to originate strategies and identify opportunities that advance departmental and organizational achievements which support the mission, and goals of Redeemer Health while enhancing the profile of philanthropy within the organization. Working from our Transformation Center campus and having access to the Spark Experience Center, the candidate will have a unique opportunity to redesign and restructure the development function and elevate the culture of philanthropy within the organization. Important qualities in a successful candidate will include the ability to effectively engage with, develop and mentor talent, as well as build strong relationships with donors, foundations, elected officials and community representatives.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic executive with more than 10 years of progressively responsible leadership in fundraising, preferably in health care with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role. Bachelor's degree and CFRE required and a Master's degree or higher educational achievement preferred. Experiencing managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources, including demonstrated success in closing major gifts (250K+). Proven track record of staff engagement and development essential.

Total compensation package will include a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive health and welfare benefit offering to include relocation assistance if necessary.
