Under the direction of the Executive Director of Development, the Associate Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations will focus on the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundations and organizational prospects and donors. Priorities include identifying funding needs and opportunities, including capital, program, and endowments; developing, writing, and submitting proposals and cases for support; and providing reports and other stewardship materials to donors. The Associate Director will serve on the Library’s Grants Coordination Committee, and maintain working relationships with Library administrators and staff and development colleagues, as well as UCLA’s central Foundation Relations & Corporate Philanthropy office and other colleagues throughout External Affairs and campus-wide.  

Ideal candidates for this position will have a minimum of two to three years of experience in grant writing and/or a fundraising environment in a university, library, research institution or other organization of equivalent complexity with a proven track record of success with foundation and organization funders. The Associate Director will have an understanding of and general knowledge regarding resources specific to foundation and organization fundraising as well as experience with the grant/proposal writing process. Among other qualification, this individual will have the ability to research, compile, synthesize and convey information to funders and will have strong oral communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with a wide variety of internal and external constituents.
