JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Associate Director of Development for Individual Giving is responsible for securing major gifts ($25,000 and above) and planned gifts for the Doheny Eye Institute (“DEI”). The Associate Director is responsible for building and managing a prospect/donor portfolio in various stages of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Special emphasis will be placed on creating and implementing strategies for successful solicitations and building relationships with DEI physicians, staff, donors, and support groups.

Doheny Eye Institute‘s mission remains “to further the conservation, improvement and restoration of human eyesight.” That unifying purpose rooted in Carrie Estelle Doheny’s own vision loss has made us a global leader in vision science research. For more than 20 years, US News & World Report has ranked us among the top ophthalmology programs, and today we remain among the top five in the nation. This distinction is based on the advanced research and clinical expertise of Doheny scientists and physicians. Doheny scientists are changing how people see—and how they think about the future of vision.

The affiliation between Doheny Eye Institute and UCLA Stein Eye Institute combines the strength, reputation, and distinction of two of the nation’s top eye institutions to advance vision research, education, and patient care in Southern California.
