Director of Advancement

Bishop Alemany High School is conducting a search for an experienced and entrepreneurial fundraising professional to serve as its next Director of Advancement.  As a Catholic High School located in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, Bishop Alemany is a community enriched by faith that develops intellectually prepared men and women who are committed to promoting a just and peaceful world as conscientious and morally courageous leaders in service to others. 

The Director of Advancement will report directly to the President and will serve as the Chief Advancement Officer of the institution. The new Director will demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of the culture, values and mission of Bishop Alemany High School and will be responsible for the planning, facilitation and execution of all advancement activities including: annual giving, capital giving, major gifts, grant writing, foundation relations, alumni relations, prospect research and cultivation, special events and special projects as determined by the President. 

The ideal candidate will have seven to ten years of experience as a professional fundraiser with demonstrable achievements, including a record of success with personal major gift solicitation.  Knowledge of current and evolving trends in philanthropic work and refined people skills are essential to the position and experience working in a private or independent school is preferred (though not required).  A Bachelor’s degree is required, an advanced degree and/or CFRE credential is preferred.
