Development Director

Job responsibilities:

 Develop and implement, in partnership with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, long- and short-term fundraising plans that will meet ongoing institutional financial goals and growth.  Research, develop, implement, and document a systemic approach to donor lists and prospecting, cultivation, engagement, stewardship, and recognition opportunities for all donors, subscribers, and sponsors.  Collaborate with the Executive Director, Board President, and Governance Committee to ensure a strong pipeline of prospective board members who will build the diversity, skillset, and fundraising capacity of the Board of Directors.  Manage Annual, Spring and special campaigns.  Assist the Executive Director in establishing appropriate annual goals and strategies for the Annual Campaign and all other fund-raising activities in support of the TSO’s mission.  Oversee the development and production of all materials used to support TSO’s development efforts, campaigns and special events, in coordination with TSO’s overall brand.  Work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to ensure a year-round cultivation program to develop new relationships and funding opportunities.  Identify, cultivate and solicit major gift prospects and corporate support.  Collaborate closely with the Executive Director on major gift outreach.  Directly fundraise for major gifts and concert sponsorships.  Write and collaborate with the marketing team to develop fundraising collateral materials.  Coordinate the production of the donor e-newsletter.  Ensure the proper stewardship of donors.  Manage and update the Tessitura database. Monitor revenue and expense budgets; prepare and present accurate and timely reporting and analysis.  Execute a communication plan of activities that supports relationships between donors and the Orchestra.  Attend evening dinners, receptions and concerts to steward donors.
