Location: Alexandria, VA / Remote

Reports to: Deputy CEO/Executive Director, AASLD Foundation

 

Come join the leading organization of professionals committed to preventing and curing liver disease as the Director of Development.  This position reports to the Executive Director of the Foundation and manages two staff.  AASLD headquarters is located in Alexandria, VA and while DC Metro area candidates are preferred, remote candidates in the Eastern and Central time zones will be strongly considered.

 

The Director of Development will lead the strategy for and oversee the implementation of the AASLD/AASLD Foundation's (AASLD/F) fundraising program.  Additionally, this role will oversee and manage the implementation of targeted solicitation strategies for the AASLD/F’s fundraising efforts in annual giving, major gifts, private foundation, and corporate giving, planned giving, and comprehensive campaigns.  The Director will solicit grant support for research and travel awards and solicit corporate support for the AASLD/F’s initiatives.

 

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area (or equivalent work experience in a related field) plus a minimum of six years of experience in a similar role.  AASLD seeks individuals with experience in direct fundraising, growing, and managing a portfolio of corporate and individual donors, and some grant writing expertise.  Knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge database, including Luminate Online, Wealth Point/Target Analytics is a plus, and some experience with fundraising technology is required.
