The Jewish Museum:
Located in the landmark Warburg mansion on New York City’s Museum Mile, the Jewish Museum is a museum at the intersection of art and Jewish culture for people of all backgrounds. Founded in 1904, the Museum was the first institution of its kind in the United States and one of the oldest Jewish museums in the world. The Museum maintains a unique collection of nearly 30,000 works of art, ceremonial objects, and media reflecting the global Jewish experience over more than 4,000 years. The Museum’s dynamic exhibitions and public programs provide platforms for cross-cultural dialogue, fostering empathy, mutual understanding, and respect. The Position:
The Jewish Museum seeks a detail-oriented, multi-tasker to
manage its facility rental program and to provide support for
internal events produced by the Special Events Department. In
addition to having strong organizational and administrative skills,
this position requires someone with the maturity to handle a broad
range of client needs with professionalism and tact.
Responsibilities Include:

Manage all aspects of the Museum’s
rental program, including fielding rental inquiries for
institutional, corporate, and individual life cycle events.
Arrange site visits, coordinate event
logistics, act as on-site event manager, and assist with event
planning.

Prepare contracts, oversee payment
and insurance forms, and develop/maintain rental program
budgets.
Manage relationships with vendors
such as caterers, party planners, and floral designers.
Coordinate the Museum approval
process for print and digital materials.
Maintain current rental program
information on the Museum’s website and input relevant data in
Salesforce.
Provide important support for
internal Museum events, including the Annual Purim Ball, Art and
Design Tour, exhibition openings, and other events and projects, as
needed.
Attend weekly event logistics
meetings and engage with colleagues, donors, and other key Museum
stakeholders.
Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree required
Two to three years’ experience with
facility rentals, event management, or related field
Excellent email and phone etiquette;
ability to adapt to varying communication styles
Maturity to deal with sophisticated
clients and willingness to go the extra mile to provide excellent
client service
Strong negotiation skills
Highly detail oriented; adept at
trafficking logistics and prioritizing workload between several
projects
Flexibility to work evenings and
weekends as necessary
Strong computer skills essential;
familiarity with Salesforce preferred
Knowledge of the laws of kashrut,
preferred
Interest in visual arts and museum
operations preferred
