Gettysburg College is seeking an experienced professional for a full-time position as the Director of College Grants. The Director of College Grants provides leadership in the area of foundation, government, and corporate support for Gettysburg College. The Director, uniquely situated as the nexus of every division and department on campus, is responsible for actively seeking and submitting grant proposals that advance the mission of the College in direct consultation with the President, Provost, Vice President for College Advancement, faculty, and other colleagues.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President and Senior Philanthropic Advisor in the College Advancement division, the Director works closely with faculty, program directors, and senior leadership, including the President and Provost, from every department and division on campus. Gettysburg College seeks candidates who have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members.
A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred. At least 3 – 5 years’ fundraising experience in the grant-seeking space is required; experience seeking foundation, government, and private grants within a higher education environment is preferred. Exceptional written and oral communication skills are required; experience writing successful grants and securing philanthropic resources, particularly for educational purposes, is desirable. The successful candidate will have a proven track record that demonstrates an ability to be adaptable and adept at building meaningful professional relationships with a wide variety of colleagues, constituents, and prospects of different backgrounds, cultures, and circumstances. As this position is responsible for the leading the College Grants team, managerial and leadership experience is strongly preferred. An ability to proactively seek and connect philanthropic resources with funding opportunities at the College that align with the College’s mission and values is a must. The successful candidate will possess an intellectual curiosity that is integral to being conversant in, and understanding of, a wide variety of academic disciplines and co-curricular programs.
The Director of College Grants is a twelve-month, full-time administrative appointment. Salary is competitive and is complemented by an excellent benefits package.
