Blackwood CME is a medical grants and education company, funding and implementing the educational goals of medical/scientific associations and academic institutions.  We accomplish this by helping clients research, compose, solicit, and manage grants; develop and manage education activities for health care professionals and patients; and tracking and reporting outcomes. Blackwood CME also works closely with its sister company, A. Fassano & Company, to assist clients. We are currently seeking a part-time Medical Grants and Education Specialist with experience and skills in these areas, and the position has the potential to become full-time depending on the volume of work later in the year. The Medical Grants and Education Specialist will report directly to the Blackwood CME Chief Executive Officer.

Duties of the Medical Grants and Education Specialist include:

  • Researching and identifying medical education grant leads for various therapeutic areas;
  • Writing and submitting grant applications for medical/scientific education activities for health care professionals and patients;
  • Keeping grant application tracking spreadsheets with related details up to date;
  • Following up with clients as needed to obtain information for grant applications and reconciliations;
  • Collaborating with education program faculty or satellite symposia organizers to collect content (disclosures, slides, videos, etc);
  • Update, write, and edit medical education learning objectives, program copy, and marketing copy; and
  • Other duties as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience preparing, submitting, and reconciling grant applications for continuing medical education (CME) activities;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as the aptitude to learn SharePoint and association clients’ CMS/LMS systems;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff colleagues, client contacts, and grant funder contacts in coordination with the Chief Executive Officer;
  • Ability to meet deadlines, while demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail and quality;
  • Familiarity with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Policies and Standards for Commercial Support;
  • Ability to maintain electronic files for tracking grant applications;
  • Ability to maintain a home office; and
  • Previous experience working with a medical association or medical education company.

 

Previous experience managing live and online education programs and familiarity with adult learning principles is also a plus.
