Manager of Annual & Special Gifts       Responsibilities

The Manager of Annual and Special Gifts is responsible for managing day-to-day operations for the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation’s (JCCF) Annual and Special Gifts Program, in collaboration with the JCCF’s Director of Development. This includes direct appeals (print and electronic), online giving, social media, Lifeline Connection, and special gifts. Incumbent is involved in implementing integrated fundraising efforts and analyzing their success in attracting and retaining Annual and Special Gifts donors, the largest segment of the JCCF’s donor base. Incumbent coordinates donor communications, including e-communications, e appeals, and special integrated fundraising initiatives across multiple platforms. Incumbent collaborates with JCCF and JCCC staff on officewide projects, including website and social media updates. Incumbent independently interacts with donors, Board members, administrators, faculty and staff, and works directly with third party consultants (printers, mail houses, designers, fundraising and marketing consultants, etc.), to manage complex projects and see them through to completion on time and on budget.

Qualifications

 

Required

Ability to maintain confidentiality in a donor environment with sensitive and confidential information.

Ability to work overtime, evenings and weekends for special events, mailings and meetings.

Demonstrated analytical skills to effectively assess annual giving program performance and make recommendations for improvements over time.

Demonstrated excellent editing and proofreading skills.

Demonstrated excellent organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.

Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using fundraising databases.

Demonstrated skills and working knowledge of direct mail strategy and implementation.

Expert knowledge of Windows-based software, including advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, as well as MS Outlook, PowerPoint and Web research skills.

Problem solving skills to arrive at solutions with minimal supervision.

Strong English writing skills to produce original and effective solicitation materials, publications, e-communications, acknowledgement letters and other correspondence, reports and documents using correct grammar, syntax and punctuation.

Strong interpersonal communications skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and interact diplomatically and effectively with volunteers, administrators, faculty, staff, campus colleagues, vendors, and donors.

Understanding of communications tools and emerging technology, especially the web, and integrated fundraising strategy.

 

Strongly Preferred

HTML and website management (CMS) programs. Raiser’s Edge database experience

Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator etc.)

Knowledge of design, printing and direct mail production processes.
