About the Position
World Pulse is seeking a confident professional with an abundance mindset and a desire to grow a rewarding career in the field of international fund development. The Development Associate will work as part of a dynamic team to manage and optimize our fund development system and processes. As part of this Portland-based team, the successful candidate will thrive on building and maintaining various fundraising systems and tools; writing and producing content related to development for distribution; fostering reciprocal relationships, and have a passion for inspiring generosity for women and girls worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
The Development Associate responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing and optimizing organizational development processes to increase funding revenue. The position interfaces with key stakeholders such as the team, board members, donors, partners, and advisors. A successful candidate should possess exemplary communication skills, outstanding attention to detail, eagerness to excel in all responsibilities listed below, and capability to grow their role at World Pulse.
Fundraising
-
Manage all operational aspects of the
fund development department.
Document policies, create templates
for stewardship and grant management and documenting other core
fund dev functions.
Oversee systems for prospecting and
pipeline development.
Create development communications and
related website content.
Oversee incoming gifts processing
& stewardship systems, including managing all incoming revenue
receipts, and ensure weekly mailing of donor acknowledgement
letters.
Contribute to grant applications and
reports, including: planning, content generation (where needed),
editing, and submission to ensure internal and external deadlines
are met.
Maintain content and data for all
development materials including direct mail appeals, campaigns, and
project-specific solicitation materials.
Research current and prospective
funders, maintain and continuously update donor profiles.
Work with the team in creating annual
stewardship systems and calendar.
Participate in the planning and
execution of mail solicitations and events.
Support event planning and logistics,
when needed.
Administrative/Database

Maintain the CRM, including Salsa and
HubSpot, and look for system improvements for fundraising reports
and mailing lists.
Track and file grants, reports, and
renewals.
Manage monthly and annual revenue
projections, and reconcile monthly revenue reports with
accounting.
With the support of the VP of
Development, create and tailor financial reports into formats
requested by foundations and senior leadership team.

Desired Skills, Characteristics, and Experience
Minimum Associates Degree or equivalent work experience (3 year’s experience minimum in nonprofit fundraising/administration).

High level of organization.
Ability to prioritize multiple
tasks and deadlines.
Eagerness to work collaboratively in
a fast-paced, team-oriented, and goal-driven environment.
Strong writing, editing, and
proofreading skills.
Experience with CRM database
operations, such as Salsa and HubSpot
Demonstrated critical thinking skills
to analyze data and understand its relationship to the overall
fundraising objectives and ability to provide a written
assessment.
Mastery of Microsoft Office,
particularly Excel.
Interest to grow in the fund
development profession

Compensation
This is a salaried position with a base salary between $48,000 - $52,000 commensurate with skills and experience. Our generous benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life/disability insurance, and a 401(k) program, 4-week paid vacation and 10 paid holidays plus sick time. This is a full-time position located in our Portland, Oregon headquarters.
