GCSAA seeks an entrepreneurial, outcome-driven, and creative fundraising professional to serve as Senior Director, Development (SDoD). The successful candidate will have passion for GCSAA’s mission, programs, and the impact of golf. S/he will have the opportunity to build a comprehensive development program with the goal of supporting and expanding GCSAA’s impact and programs. The SDoD will develop a forward-looking and sustainable strategic plan for fundraising focused on expanding and diversifying income sources from members, individuals, corporations, and foundations. The ideal candidate will develop persuasive and compelling cases for support and carry a portfolio of prospects including individuals, corporations, and foundations.

 

GCSAA is at an exciting moment in its trajectory. After 95 years of providing global leadership for golf course superintendents, the organization is preparing to meet the future needs of the game and the profession. The Foundation has expanded its focus on providing STEM education and pathways for youth and underrepresented communities to connect with the game. In addition, supporters of GCSAA and the Foundation are focused on fostering programs and initiatives that will benefit the game, its environment, and communities.

 

The GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of GCSAA and a 501(c)3 organization, was founded in 1955 to grow funding and support for GCSAA’s organizational priorities. To best serve GCSAA members and the communities in which golf is played, the Foundation is focused on the environmental impact and sustainability of golf. The Foundation’s mission is to secure funding and support to strengthen advocacy, education, and research that advances the work of golf course management professionals. The Foundation is headquartered in Lawrence, Kansas, and is open to remote employment for a highly qualified candidate.

 

Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) is a leading 501(c)6 organization which has been the top professional membership association for the men and women who manage golf courses in the United States and worldwide. GCSAA currently serves over 18,000 members in 78 countries. 60% of GCSAA’s superintendent members work at private facilities or clubs, and the remainder serve at public courses. Currently, GCSAA has 98 affiliated chapters in all 50 U.S. states, and internationally in Canada, Caribbean, and Mexico.
