The ACLU seeks a full-time position of Manager, Strategic Partnerships in the Development Department of the ACLU’s National office in New York, NY.

The mission of the ACLU’s Development Department is to unlock the full potential of donors and the ACLU as partners in the creation of a more perfect union. We pursue our mission by building long-term donor relationships and organizational partnerships, by demonstrating impact in response to threats, by engaging donors how they wish to engage, by taking interest in our donors and facilitating personal action, by being accountable stewards of their funds, and by asking donors to consider giving the ACLU their full support.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Strategic Partnerships, the Manager is responsible for developing employee and customer engagement programs and content that help raise more than $10 million annually through employee giving, corporate matching, and cause marketing. The Manager also builds relationships with third-party platforms such as Benevity and PayPal Giving Fund to increase the ACLU’s visibility among HR personnel, employees, and crowdfunding platform audiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES-
Collaborate with internal and
external partners to develop, innovate, and manage the ACLU’s
corporate giving program
Develop and evaluate ACLU civil
liberties and civil rights related assets and events, both planned
and rapid response, for companies to engage their employees or
customers
Work collaboratively with third-party
giving platforms to elevate ACLU content with their audiences,
identify opportunities for deeper corporate community engagement,
and coordinate data sharing
Refine employee engagement strategies
by consulting with sister organizations and third-party workplace
giving platforms
- Support cause marketing, sponsorship opportunities for ACLU events, programs, and campaigns Assess and manage the adoption and promotion of new third-party giving platforms, including contracts in collaboration with ACLU counsel’s office Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned
- Center principles of equity, inclusion, and belonging in all work, embedding the values in program development, policy application, and organizational practices and processes

Experience developing, producing, and
managing events, in-person and virtual
Highly developed project management
skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize
conflicting demands
Experience applying excellent
communication and design skills to create compelling collateral and
presentations
Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills with ability to develop and maintain
productive relationships with internal and external colleagues and
to represent the organization with tact and diplomacy
Ability to proactively contribute to
assigned as well as unassigned tasks and projects, and work
independently and with others to identify and solve problems
Willingness to travel as needed
Experience with evolving trends in
CSR, corporate partnerships, employee engagement and cause
marketing, preferred
Event management experience,
preferred
Experience with CRM software, such as
Salesforce, preferred
Experience with office design, event
management, and office software and databases, preferred
Experience with third third-party
giving platforms, preferred
Experience working at complex
national or international nonprofits, preferred
The annual salary for this position is $91,237 (Level H). This salary is reflective of a position based in New York, NY. This salary will be subject to a locality adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting. Note that most of the salaries listed on our job postings reflect New York, NY salaries, where our National offices are headquartered.
