SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The National Philanthropy Officer, MOS in School oversees the development and growth of a portfolio of non-New England based corporate and individual donors for the Museum's growing slate of in-school offerings, including EiE, the Museum's award-winning curriculum. The Officer is personally responsible for $2M-$4M per year to support a wide array of investments into various synchronous, asynchronous, and curricular initiatives, programs, and products. They will build a growth-minded philanthropic pipeline, creating a sustainable revenue stream for the Museum. The Officer will work with an array of stakeholders from across the MOS in School team and Museum, provide strategic advice to direct reports on their efforts to create compelling proposals for a wide-array of MOS in School funding needs, and to creatively match funding opportunities with prospects and existing funders. This position can be based in Boston at the Museum or fully remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee non-New England philanthropy for EiE and other MOS in School programs annually.
• Personally responsible for $2-4M per year.
• Dedicate 75% of job to donor cultivation, engagement and solicitation.
• Design and execute fundraising strategies for 100 donors annually, resulting in a minimum of 25 solicitations per year.
• Complete 150 donor visits and 300 modes of prospect outreach per year.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Some evening and weekend work required.

REPORTS TO:

Senior Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors of Arts or Science degree.
• Three or more years of advancement experience, with demonstrated proficiency in prospecting and portfolio development.
• Proven track record of soliciting and securing significant philanthropic gifts (6-figure plus).
• Demonstrated understanding of best practices in philanthropy.
• Demonstrated experience with new prospect engagement and pipeline development.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Demonstrated communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with both external donors and internal colleagues.

STARTING SALARY:

Exempt (Salaried). $75,000 - 80,000
