Director of Development
Syracuse Stage, the professional LORT theatre in residence at Syracuse University, seeks candidates for the position of Director of Development. The Director of Development leads a three-person team in executing all fundraising campaigns for Syracuse Stage, including those for individual, corporate, foundation, government, and in-kind gifts. Develops strong working relationships with Syracuse Stage Board of Trustees, funders, community members, and staff to achieve budgeted goals. Implements and oversees logistics for annual Syracuse Stage gala, opening night dinners and other projects as assigned.
The Syracuse Stage Development Office is located within the Syracuse Stage facility and the Director of Development interacts primarily with Stage staff and trustees, reporting to the Syracuse Stage Managing Director. There is regular collaboration with, and dual reporting to the College of Visual and Performing Arts Assistant Dean for Advancement. This position is year round full-time exempt, paid through the University with full University benefits. Salary range is $80,000-$95,000/annually.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, preferably for an arts or educational institution.
- Demonstrated success in solicitation of gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations.
- Commitment to developing and leading staff.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Understanding of Syracuse and its philanthropic community, and/or the national performing arts funding community.
