Position Overview

The communications team at Common Future creates content, conversations, and campaigns that transform how people think about and work towards an equitable economy. The Creative Services Specialist plays a critical role in this work by ensuring all of our assets are brand-aligned and beautiful. As Common Future diversifies and deepens relationships with its audiences and the organization has growing communications needs, this person understands the importance of a cohesive (and stunning) visual identity and voice.


On a day-to-day basis this looks like: fielding design requests, creating templates, designing collateral for social, newsletters, and campaigns, creating pitch decks, managing assets, occasional copywriting, and more. This person serves as an internal consultant for the organization, not only bringing projects to life through design, but also maintaining a design process and system that keeps everyone informed of how to make requests, what assets are you used for what, and where they live. 


Key Responsibilities
    Stewardship of brand identity: Working closely with the VP of Brand and Storytelling, you will understand the importance of brand identity and cohesion and translate that to a living brand strategy. Creation and maintenance of brand-aligned assets: From website updates and decks to email headers and one pagers, you are responsible for the creation and maintenance of all key assets and templates. You also have space to experiment with unique ways of expressing the brand through design. Project management of requests: Create and manage creative briefs and the creative process from concept to production, communicating deadlines, process, and needs to the team. Support on special projects: Work with the comms team to design materials for special projects such as events, digital campaigns, and reports.


Desired Qualifications
    Established design project portfolio that includes visual identity, swag, and marketing  assets Understands brands, story, and how to make an impact through cohesive and consistent design Strong project management and production skills, specifically:
      Managing a production schedule Utilizing Asana or other project management platforms to consistently manage projects  Communicating deadlines and deliverables Proactively problem solving when stuck Following through on commitments Attention to detail, especially tightening up and improving materials
    Expertise in the most up-to-date Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop. Illustrator and Premiere Pro are a plus Experience with WordPress a plus  Thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys working with others to accomplish shared goals Organized, proactive, nimble, and strategy-driven  Excellent interpersonal skills, along with diplomacy, tact, and humor Entrepreneurial style, with an enthusiasm for experimentation and working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment 


Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt position. The salary range is $60,000 - $70,000 and commensurate with experience.  Common Future offers a work environment that is committed to the wellbeing and support of our employees.
