We have an exciting opportunity for a high energy and creative Donor Relations Specialist to join our growing ASME Foundation team.

 

The Donor Relations Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing engagement and fundraising strategies to enhance and grow revenue from ASME’s current and prospective donor communities, both individual and institutional. A key focus of the Donor Relations Specialist will be the organization and strategic oversight of current and prospective donor data and analytics, including prospect identification, qualification, cultivation and stewardship. 

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Research all prospects, including detailed background information, giving history, personal interests, and request strategies using a data-driven approach

•    Maintain accurate donor information in SalesForce

•    Conduct queries as needed for mailing lists, donor and volunteer recognition and fundraising efforts

•    Manage data analytics and reporting to build and strengthen ASME donor pipeline and philanthropic initiatives 

•    Establish and manage donor relations processes regarding acknowledgement, recognition, ongoing communications and continued cultivation of past, current and prospective donors 

•    Identify opportunities for major individual and institutional giving that closely align with ASME’s philanthropic objectives and mission, and work with Philanthropy and Programs teams to create tailored engagement pathways and activities 

•    Assist in day-to-day fundraising and operational support, including preparation of budgets, agendas, proposals, grant reports, and decks  

 

EXPERIENCE

This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or additional equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years’ nonprofit donor relations experience. Successful candidates will have the ability to work entrepreneurially and as an integral part of growing team.

 

The ideal candidate will present other important qualifications and competencies such as:

 

•    Communication & Collaboration - Exceptional verbal and written communications skills are required, including writing and editing. 

•    Project Management - Strong project management skills and attention to detail are critical to this role. Must have creative problem solving and analytical skills.

•    Technical Skills - Must have experience working with a contact database and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
