As a member of the Alumni Association’s Alumni Engagement and
Outreach team, the Program Manager, Alumni Engagement is
responsible for the planning and implementation of strategies,
programs and projects that increase alumni participation and
engagement in the Western United States (Los Angeles, San
Francisco, San Diego, Seattle and growth markets), and the
Southeast (Florida, Atlanta, Texas and growth markets).
The Manager is responsible for: • Managing volunteers &
alumni networks • Creating, managing, and executing mass
engagement events to engage alumni in the region • Facilitate and
execute events in partnership with regional development officers to
strengthen the pipeline and cultivate prospects in underserved
geographic markets • Ensuring effective communication and quality
alumni data • Meeting alumni one on one for visits • International
alumni customer service • Cultivating relationships to build
affinity to the University This position is based in
California and reports directly to the Senior
Director of Alumni Engagement. This position requires
availability to work evenings and/or weekends. Some heavy lifting
is required during events. 50% travel (plane, train, other)
required. Education (include licenses,
certifications, etc.):
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years professional experience working in alumni relations, event planning and execution, volunteer management, marketing, program development, admissions and/or relationship management capacity.
Strong experience with program budgeting, strategic planning, and marketing programs to increase participation. Demonstrated experience managing volunteers, working with committees and boards, and coordinating special events required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:

- Demonstrated proficiency at multi-tasking.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a group of fund-raising professionals and program staff professionals, faculty and program staff.
- Good understanding/appreciation of the values of a public high education institution and ability to articulate it to internal and external constituencies.
